The Lost Symbol

First off when I first started this book I thought it was amazing, and I was telling everyone to read it because ever chapter was suspenseful. And it drove me crazy that he would end the chapter hanging with this one character and then the next chapter was something entirely different with another character and you had to keep reading until it left you hanging there and then told you want happened to the first character. It was great! I even bought the hard back version for my boyfriend since I was reading it on my kindle.

The book was great, until it got to the end where they seemed to tie up all the ends and I thought it would end but chapters kept coming and coming. And I actually started to get bored of the book as it explained more and more that I didn't think really needed to be there. And I kept wondering, is this the last chapter? I think some of the last chapters didn't need to be there. It kind of bored me. But all in all the book was fantastic. I like how Dan Brown writes and how I am always running to the internet to research some of what he wrote to see if it really is true or not. It is great. I recommend this book to anyone.

Cleopatra's Daughter

Michelle Moran, the author, did a wonderful job portraying the life of Selene and Alexandra. I could not even put the book down it was that good! At the end of the book Michelle Moran states that she tried to portray the all real events that happened during that time. Of course, you cannot exactly know what happened during the life of Selene but this book was excellent! After reading the life of Selene it has fascinated me to learn more about this era.

Michelle Moran's first book about Nefertiti made me want to go to Egypt and this one makes me want to see Rome!

You really get a feel for the characters and are hoping right along with Selene that things go her way. I really enjoyed the ending and seeing who the Red Eagle really was. I also enjoyed learning the words that they used in Rome and the festivities that they did.

I can't wait to read Michelle Moran next book! Hope it comes out soon :)

Update

I was starting to read The Sweetness at the bottom of the pie. I actually started it before reading Catching Fire but because that came out I had to put The Sweetness at the bottom of the pie on the back burner. Then after reading Catching Fire I began to read it again. I am glad I am reading it on my Kindle because there are a lot of words that I just don't know in that book. It is a bit hard to get into. I just put it back on the back burner again for Cleopatra's Daughter and after that I will probably jump right into Dan Brown's new book The Lost Symbol. Oh! will I ever finish The Sweetness at the bottom of the pie?

Catching Fire

Every single chapter makes you wanting to read more. The chapters end very suspenseful so you cannot just stop at the end of the chapter because you are wanting more.

It was a very very good book, the end left me thirsty for more. There were so many questions that were left unanswered at the end of the book that I want to read the third one now!

This book starts off after the hunger games with Katniss about ready to go on her district tour. She learns things about the district on this tour. Katniss gets in so much trouble with the capitol. It seems like she is always stuck between a rock and a hard spot with so many things...with the capitol, with peeta and gale.

I hope the next book comes out pretty quick...but I know I will probably have to wait a whole year to read the final book!

Hush Hush

This weekend, I finished the ARC book I am reading for Barnes and Noble called Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick.

At first, I didn't think I was going to like it because it reminded me a lot of twilight. Like them meeting in biology and she is getting this vibes off of him and he is being all mysterious. But, then it takes another turn and starts to differ from Twilight and I really began to like.

The book is narrated by Nora Grey. Just your average 10th grader but then one day the seating arrangement changes in biology. Instead of sitting by her best friend Vee she is stuck with Patch and that is when her life began to change. Patch is very mysterious and has a dark past. After Nora meets Patch she begins to see things she can't explain and things began to happen to her...like a guy in a black ski mask.

The end is really good and I do hope there is another one. I really like the character of Nora Grey, and I like Patch. Patch is supposed to be a bad guy, but the things he does make you wonder is he really good or bad? Nora best friend Vee Sky, I didn't like her character very much.

At the beginning of the book I had a lot of questions, but they were pleasantly answered at the end. The ending didn't leave any loose ends for me and I really enjoyed it.

The Hunger Games

I just love this book! It is the second time around reading it. I really enjoy reading about the character Katniss. The way it is wrote you really feel for the character and root her on throughout the whole book.

Hunger games is about a place called Panem, which is where North America was. Panem has a capitol and twelve districts. The capitol is in charged of the districts and shows there power by having the hunger games. It is a punishment for the uprising of the districts in the past. They take two children and boy and a girl from each districts and imprison them in a arena for them to fight the death until one is remaining.

It does sound awful, and it is. The story is told by Katniss one the the children who is picked for the Hunger games. The hardest part for me to read is about her friendship with another competitor name Rue. The story is sad but you never want to stop reading.

At the end of the book I was wanting more. And the worst part about it, is it ended with the words "End of Book One" and the next book doesn't come out until another year. But, this second time around I only have to wait a week before Catching fire comes out. I can't wait for it to come out Sept 1st

The next book

The next book, I have actually started reading, is The Hunger Games. The second book of this trilogy from Suzanne Collins is coming out on September 1st. So, now it is time for me to re-read the Hunger Games. And, since I just started this blog I can blog a review when I am finished. :)

I can't wait to reread it, I really enjoyed it the first time. And, I can't wait for the 2nd book, Catching Fire to come out on September 1st. I heard really good reviews about it already.
